The
stained-glass windows were made and signed by Haussaire, a famous
glassblower, in the XIXth century. He participated as well to
the making of the Sacré Coeur's stained-glass windows of Paris
in the 1870's. This room won't let you indefferent, overlooking
the Basilica, it is situated on the side of the hotel
built in 1850, which was first the convent of the Ursulines
of Valenciennes. Indeed these stained-glass windows
witnessed more than 150 years of history, a convent, three wars,
and a prison in 1940...
There
are obviously some modern elements as it is
equiped with wifi, flat screen with satellite tv, telephone,
shower, hair dryer, toilets...
